With the elections now open for BJCP Regional Representatives someone mentioned that Canada should become their own region and then another person suggested Europe should have their own vote. I could certainly see more regions, but only with more involvement. Currently Canada has 255 active judges and is part of the North Region which has 655 judges and is also part of the Northeast Region. The Northeast is the largest region with 990 judges, but Europe despite having 51 countries only has 49 judges. I suppose Canada could be brought together as one region with all the countries outside the US, but I don’t see Canada as a separate region with only 1/3 of the normal judge numbers for a region and Europe does not yet have enough to create a separate region either. So no, the BJCP should not create new regions for areas outside the US.
