I had seen Lagunitas Bitter Oats in the bottle shop and had passed it by several times wondering how it might be when a customer came in an thanked the clerk for suggesting it his last time through and then I knew a bottle was coming home. I didn’t pay much attention to it before opening when I discovered it was a 10.5% ABV double IPA. I guess moving forward I should pay more attention to the alcohol levels before deciding what to open. The beer was quite tasty with a sweet malt character and enough hops to keep the malt in check. With this alcohol level I had to remind myself to sip it instead of drink and took my time to savor what Lagunitas had created. If you haven’t given this one a whirl yet, take it out for a spin, I think you will enjoy it!
