I almost skipped the boxed bottle of Innis & Gunn Highland Ale when I spotted it at a local bottle shop, but the price wasn’t bad so I decided to take a chance. The 7.4% ABV scotch ale is matured over oak chips infused with 18 year-old scotch whiskey. The malt presence is spot on and the oak and whiskey add a complexity which is excellent. I don’t know what others think of this one, but I think you should make it a point to grab a bottle if you like scotch ales. It’s crazy beautiful and I need another bottle stat!
