I’ve had a bottle of Lagunitas Night Time Ale hanging out in the fridge for quite some time. The beer rang in at 7.9% abv and racked up 74 IBU according to the label. It was quite the treat and is what I prefer in a Black IPA. Quite hoppy, but not bone dry. Malty, but not roasty like a stout. I know some who believe a Black IPA doesn’t really exist and the beers are either Porters or Stouts, and while the lines can be blurry, a Black IPA is a separate beer style. I suggest if you want a tasty black ale this is the one you should get. I see the website says availability is January-February, but you may still find it hanging out on a shelf somewhere.
