Some time back I happened upon bottles of Medley Bros. in a SC liquor store and with a price point around $25 I took a bottle home to sample. The 102 proof Bourbon is from the Charles Medley Distillery and Frank-Lin and as such has an indeterminate origin. That doesn’t particularly worry me, but I would like to know who made the hooch. What I do know is the origin is Kentucky. Medley Bros. is smooth with a nice oak and leather character and a sweet brown sugar finish. The alcohol is quickly tempered with a single large ice cube and the only complaints anyone would make is the alcohol and the finish sweetness. At $25 it is a no brainer and so I think I’ll pick up a replacement bottle. Get some if it is sold in your area.
