It has taken some time, but I am seeing ammo supplies return to something close to normal. Now what doesn’t seem to have become normalized is the price. Back before ammo went AWOL I purchased 420 rounds of 5.56 for $135+tx. Yesterday I spotted that same ammo for $189+tx. Of course it was two different stores, but to go from $0.32 per round to $0.45 is quite a price hike. I’ve noticed the same thing with .22LR. CCI Mini-Mags were always $8 per 100 if you didn’t buy bulk and now when you do find them the price is $10+ per 100. Sounds like ammo has taken an 20-30% hike. You can still find deals, I just received a backorder of ammo from last year and my price for the Mini-Mags was about 7 cents per round, but that is rare and those prices may never be seen again. Anyway, if you need something it is probably on the shelf, the question is whether or not you are willing to pay the price.
