It has been a very long time since I added to my expansive beer book collection, but I came across one I just could not resist today. I’m a huge fan of book which deal with historical beers since the recipes back then were often difficult for us to follow today or missing key components we are after like mash temp. These guys brewed over and over and so they may not have known at what temp they were actually mashing, but since they hit the temp regularly they didn’t really need to know. Anyway, I had not been aware of The Home Brewer’s Guide To Vintage Beer until this morning, but immediately went to Amazon to get a copy. Supposedly this will take at least a month to arrive, but I believe it will be worth the wait. After I receive it I’ll give it a once over and post my thoughts.
