Yesterday I had the pleasure of ordering an Oskar Blues/SKA collaboration brew named oSKAr the G’Rauch beer at a local watering hole. The menu listed it as a smoked IPA and I believe said 8.5% ABV. It was served in a small sniffer and the first thing I sensed was smoke and grapefruit. It was as if someone had taken a grapefruit and chucked it onto the smoker for several hours. Now this was a 2012 collaboration between OB and SKA and to be honest I cannot find any appearance of this can or information on the 2013 release and whether or not it is still a collaboration. What I do know is this became more and more enjoyable the more I drank it and by the time the glass was drained the smoke was an afterthought and the hops ruled the day. I’d have this one again, heck, I’d have two. Now off to the store to see if anyone has it on the shelf!
