It seems the news has picked up on the 3D printed firearms and firearm parts lately as if it is some kind of new development to make a firearm at home. The truth is firearms are legal to produce at home for home use. There is no need to get all crazy about someone being able to print a firearm when the law has allowed them to produce them forever. Now it should be noted they would not be able to sell them, but who wants to sell something they crafted themselves.
Recently someone make a blocky plastic .22LR pistol which required a nail to fire. It was a single shot and it seemed the whole world went nuts over the idea. Around the same time someone made a plastic AR lower received which made it about three shots before it fell apart. I happened to be looking at Guns.com and came across a bolt together lower receiver design which has been floating around for over ten years. It’s blocky, but I kinda dig the square and bolt look, especially after they anodized it and put in lower parts kit and stock. Blocky, but good. 😉
