(Note: Sing the title of today’s post using Jim Croce’s “Time In A Bottle” as the tune.)
Last night was once again one of those events where the beer comes without a glass and you are forced to drink straight from the bottle. It’s not that the beer is awful if consumed in that manner, it is you deprive yourself of the full sensory experience. There were some short squatty wine cups available, but I didn’t want to be “that guy” so I succumbed to the peer pressure and just drank from the bottle. I can understand not having additional waste to have to deal with, but it just breaks my heart to watch people, myself included, consume good quality craft beer and swig it from the bottle. Of course drinking craft beer from the bottle is better than drinking nothing, but I think from now on I will see if I can find or bring a cup or glass. At one time I carried pint glasses in the vehicle, but I haven’t done that in a long time. It might be time to throw a couple in the car for emergency purposes!
