As I was checking out the coupons in the paper yesterday I spied one which while it contained an awesome $5 rebate coupon really shined some light on the truth. Let’s take a step back for a minute to the last time I was in the grocery store and checked out the beer aisle. I noticed Third Shift and knew it was some mass-produced beer, but wasn’t sure who was behind the brand. Also during the 2013 Superbowl commercials aired for Redd’s Apple Ale which seemed innocent enough, but you don’t air commercials during the Superbowl without some major backing. Turns out a simple coupon flier in the Sunday paper provides enlightenment. As it turns out the company behind all the brands is MillerCoors. What is interesting is MillerCoors only appears in the rebate coupon mice type. Pretty sneaky sis!
Anyway, a $5 rebate coupon for the purchase of any produce is a great rebate. Hope you are able to cash in!
You’re lucky to live in a state that allows coupons for alcohol. It’s illegal here in Texas; hell, even regular store discounts, like “$1 off your next purchase” cannot apply to alcoholic beverages.
Actually it’s not a coupon for alcohol, it is a coupon for produce and in reality it is a rebate for produce. Total Wine will have store coupons from time to time. The ABC Stores in NC are state run and do not have coupons, but will have rebates.
Good point… I missed that it was a rebate for produce. Still must be some reason this wouldn’t be legal here, likely due to promotion/advertising laws.
There is the check box for “Please send me more information regarding offers from MillerCoors.” Agreed though… very sneaky!
