Not quite sure what that is, but it sure is tasty. I guess when Green Flash devised Hop Head Red they were thinking of a malty IPA and because it has a reddish hue decided to skip the whole Imperial Amber nomenclature and merge a couple of styles. The beer is solid as are most Green Flash brews, malty with a strong bittering and nice hop flavor.
A friend gave me this bottle (thanks KF), otherwise I typically don’t find myself purchasing the Green Flash brews. I will grab them on draft, but for some reason I rarely bring a bottle home. Sad to say it might be the label. It’s not very inspiring and in fact none of their labels really stand out in a crowd. At one time Le Freak had a really cool label and now it’s just another fish in the sea. In the end it isn’t about the label or the bottle, it’s about the contents and the contents of a Hop Head Red bottle are decidedly tasty. 😉
