Luckily a friend snagged bottle 34/120 of Green Man’s Funk #49 when it was released earlier this year. They call the beer an American Sour Red Ale, but I call it delicious. It was a pricey libation at 22 beans per bottle, but when you consider they did not have a bottling line and the bottle was hand labeled you start to understand why a one time limited edition beer from a small brewery might have a higher than normal cost.
I’d suggest you look for this one, but the truth is you just will not find it anywhere. It was nicely soured and was a very nice Flanders Red. I could go on and on, but that would be cruel. Here’s hoping they keep rolling out the limited edition sours and with their increase in capacity do so on a larger scale so more than a handful of people can have the opportunity to enjoy their sours!
