Cary has a new Gander Mountain store and I did not hold out much hope for their gun section after visiting their Greensboro location and let me tell you how wrong I actually was. This store is wall to wall firearms covering two walls. Now the prices are escalated, but word on the street is they will price match for any local gun store’s price.
Now the question becomes, why would anyone not choose the local gun store. A couple of reasons. Often the LGS price is a cash price and the actual price is 3% higher. Also some personnel at certain LGSs turn out to be not the most pleasant people to deal with. You know the type, they know everything and you know nothing. Not the people you want to run out and give your business to unless the deal is too good to pass up.
I perused the gun counter yesterday and overheard someone say 6,000 guns and I would be surprised if there are not even more than that in this store. It truly is an amazing and jaw dropping selection. In some cases it appears guns are stacked on top of guns. If you are in that area, you have to stop in. You won’t find any bargains, but you can at least try out something you might be after and decide where you want to give your business. Competition is a good thing!
