Yesterday I completed the North Carolina Department of Justice course for Laws Governing Concealed Handgun and Use of Deadly Force at the North Carolina Justice Academy. I still have to send in the fee and wait for the certificates to be mailed back, but I am now qualified to instruct concealed carry in North Carolina.
This has been a long road, but the class yesterday was excellent. First I had to take the NRA Pistol Instructor training, but prior to that had taken and passed the CCH course. I tried to sign up for the CCH instructor course earlier, but all the seats were full until May. One person in the class with me yesterday said he signed up in November and his first open class was April and the timing did not work out so he was enrolled in the May class. I noticed on the NCJA website the classes in June, August and September are already full.
So if you are in NC, have a place to shoot the qualifying portion of the course and have a few friends who may be interested, please let me know and I will be glad to play Paladin (Have Gun Will Travel) and hold a class for you.
